ALWAYS BE YOUR BEST!!

When you think it doesn’t matter
if you fail or pass the test.
Keep in mind the reason why
you should always be your best.

While the whole world may not notice
if you tried to give your all,
there is a person in you
to whom it matters if you fall.

That little voice inside you -
which directs your thoughts each day -
will make the final judgement
if you won or lost each day.

Never can you fail yourself
if you give it all you’ve got.
The world extends a hand to you
when you give life your best shot.

For all that really matters
when you're finished with your test,
is not the final score at all -
but did you do your best?

The end of semifinal.....

Its a rainy day back here in KK.....as I had already finish my "semifinal match"...a match that took me 6 + 7 + 3 half = 16 half years to reach..such a long time..and now is the break time before the final match..the much anticipated, anxious and nervous match...and also the finale of 17 years....such a long journey that took all my efforts, patience, courage, curiosity, passion...and whatever I had in me and now I am just a match from my dream.....

Such a tough period...that provide a tough and great pshycology and mental challenge...but whatever the challenge..I am proud to pass through...with all the hardwork and efforts...but realizing the much tougher and intense challenge is awaiting me in time to come...there is no point to loose up...

A semifinal match is tough..but how tough it is will never be tougher than a final match..seeing the trophy beautifully placed for you..you won't want it to slip away from you...thus the journey is yet to end....a tougher and torny path to follow then, before the trophy is finally yours....thus not the time to loose up..but the time to step another gear up......

No point to look back at the what had been past through for the sem..the more importance is what had been learn....knowing what had been learnt is still not enuff...do and implement what had been learn sits on top of the priority list..

The journey is yet to end...and did not get easier either...and only will get tougher and tougher...and more torny...with the trophy in front of you..you wont want to be drown on your path...and out of your sight...the only way to grab it is to keep move forward..put in efforts to stay on the path...straight to the trophy...and GRAB IT!!!...

Dumb or Smart?

A young boy enters a barber shop and the barber whispers to his customer, "This is the dumbest kid in the world. Watch while I prove it to you."

The barber put a five rupee coin in one hand and two one rupee coins (1+1=2) in the other, then calls the boy over and asks, "Which do you want, son?"
The boy takes the two one rupee coins and leaves."What did I tell you?" said the barber. "That kid never learns!"

Later, when the customer leaves, he sees the same young boy coming out of the ice cream store."Hey, son! May I ask you a question? Why did you take two one rupee coins instead of five rupee coin?"

The boy licked his cone and replied, "Because THE DAY I TAKE THE FIVE RUPEE COIN, THE GAME IS OVER............
Moral: When you think the other person is dumb, you are making a fool of yourself.

A day trip to Tenom!!

At 10 AUGUST 2007, I had added another milsestone in Sabah. This time, the destination would be Tenom. A brief intro of Tenom, Tenom is a small town in Sabah well known for its coffee and of course here, there was lots of coffee plantations(but we did not managed to visit one). If Ipoh was famous for its Old Town's coffee, Sabah of course was well know for its Tenom Coffee. As I would say, I think i will prefer the aroma and taste of Tenom Coffee, but not much people in Peninsular would know Tenom coffee due to its lack of commercial publisity.
So, with 2 rented 880 Kancil, we rammed to Tenom, which is around 3++ hours drive from Kota Kinabalu.
I would consider these trip as the beginning of my photography trips, since this was considered the first time I tested out my camera since I received it.
So the first stop before reaching Tenom was Gunung Emas. Well, there was no Emas here, just the cold and fresh air breeze. The special things here, would be the tree top cabin, where you can book and stay on tree, if you don't mind the old look of the cabin.
One of the bugs sighted on a tree at Gunung Emas.

Manage to see the spider and the spider web??This picture to test the capability of my camera.

Using macro mode to capture the moss that grows on a tree

The speciality of Gunung Emas. The rooftop cabin

So after a short stop at Gunung Emas, we continued our journey to Tenom, and finally we reach Tenom town center. The first would be this Tenom Railway Station. The only Railway service found in Sabah.

The locomotive head. You will never see this is Peninsular anymore. But still in Tenom and some remote part of Sabah, this train is still an important mode of transport.

The Tenom railway station

Locomotive head on the move

After some brief stop at Tenom, we proceed on to the main destination of Tenom, Tenom Agricultural Park. The attraction here, you can found various species of plants, ranging from fruit plants to flower plants, and of course, some animals.

We had around 3++ hours walk unde the scorching hot sun and wheather. The park is quite big, but of course, you would expect all flora only. This might be my interest, but might not be someone else interest, plus walking under the real hot Mr Sun, some would not so prefer it. Some would say, what the hell we come all along to Tenom just to see plants of flowers?Haha...To me nevermind!Plants is another kind of living things, and they deserve to get attentions too!! And of course, some of the plants here you would not find them in other place.

I think is "he hua". Of all the pictures, I think this one the best pic I captured.
Another kind of rare orchid? It just looks like something, some animal that open the mouth wide open with its toungue?

Another rare orchid

The cactuses jungle

A group of geese

One of the lake found in the park.

Deers on the run.

The black lady

The carnivore plant, periuk kera!!

And I think I captured this picture nice too. This is buah tarap, and can only be found in Sabah only.I had only ate this fruits, but never see the plant before.

Actually for me, the main objective I came to Tenom is to find a fruit called Magic Fruit or Miracle Fruit. This fruit is special. Accordingly, if you eat this fruit before hand, than any other sour or bitter fruit or foods that followed on subsequently will become sweet. Its really magic. I had heard this story before hand, thats what make me wanna search for these fruits.

The sign indicating the Magic Fruit.

The leaves of Magic Fruit.

But somehow, I left the park a disappointed man as this fruit is really magic. There is no specific time for the plant to bear the magic fruit, thus I am unlucky. I din manage to taste the fruit, and my mission to Tenom, failed. Anyhow, I consider the trip is somehow still worthful, amid walking under the red hot sun.
After leaving the park, we proceed on to the Tenom market, just to bring back some souvenirs, of course the Tenom Coffee. After some short shopping, we travel back to KK, along the adventurous, dark, winding, uphill and downhill road without all the lamp post and finally we reach KK safely!!

To UM Vice Chancellor - Datuk Rafiah Salim

If any students out there had read the newsclips which was posted by New Straits Times on UM Vice Chancellor Datuk Rafiah Salim being boo-ed for her remarks at FIRST MALAYSIAN STUDENT LEADERS SUMMIT that students can freely express their views, well as a student I think I had the rights to expess my points of views here.

Newslinkhere:- http://www.nst.com.my/Current_News/NST/Monday/National/20070806074513/Article/index_html

First of all, as one of the local university student, I think the behaviour of the group of students who boo-ed UM Vice Chancellor is considered "rude", and as a student I felt sorry for that, but be remind that their boos, is considered somekind of VIEWS too, although not in the proper ways, as I would said.

Secondly, I would like to point out to Datuk Rafiah Salim that she should had corrected her remarks, by saying that, public univesities student had the freedom to express their thought and views, but SPECIFICALLY only in the field of ACADEMIC, not others(which might include universities administration).

Being a student of one of the local public universities in East Malaysia, I was very upset that UM Vice Chancellor can come out with such a remark. I would say that her remark is nothing wrong and totally correct. Students have the rights to express their views and thoughts, but Datuk, does all those thoughts and views are taken seriously enough by the universities? She is right about it, universities prepare all the forms, or e-forms or whatever for the student to voice out their views, but as I would dare to say, all those views and thoughts might just fall into a deaf ear. Just like you throw a tiny piece of pin into South China Sea.

Does really universities realy care about students needs, thoughts and views, well after almost 4 years in studies, I totally not agree with this. Experiences tell. Student is the main component in a university and these students will be the future leader as our PM would say, but still, the needs of students are very much being neglected, and dare to say being neglected in returns of sellfishness of an university administration.

Lets have some real life example: A service counter that suppose to open at 8.30am, but remain closed till 9am, keeping students in waiting, wasting students time, what university will do about it?

Students are in university to seek knowledge from lecturer, but can students complain about a lecturer that does not know how to teach? Can this group of students make a complain on such lecturer. Perhaps can. It will results nothing to the lecturer as universities did nothing on the complain (thats what I mean thoughts and views fall on deaf ear), instead, I think this group of students instead will get a bad grade for that.No bullshitting but its true.Again, experiences tell.

Hearing their disapproval, Rafiah retorted: "Behaviour like this is exactly what causes people not to respect you. You won’t even give me a hearing. And you won’t get respect."If you behave like that, nobody will listen to you because it is not worth listening. You are not respecting others."

And finally on her above comment, I would say that, she is lucky that she still receive response, although not a proper one, but to students, their views and thoughts towards universities can be said was never being responded or nothing much dractic action had been taken? Is'nt this sad? And now who was not hearing who? And are local universities really RESPECT students? If the local universities is not respecting and listening students views and thougts, how can you expect students to respect others??

TME Teambuilding..Paintball

By the time I am posting this, i was just back from EMD TME Teambuikding....We had a paintball workout at Kompleks Belia Sukan, sumwhere in Gelugot opposite USM..Well, I always dream of playing paintball game, but well, it is not a cheap game, consider expensive. Besides, to play, you will need a large group of buddy, at least 10, only you can play. Thanks to EMD, that I can play paintball for fun, and the best of all, its free. All on EMD expense.
We were divided into 2 groups of 9 ppl, with me in the group same with my manager and the other higher manager, besides with the other intern. Overall, its a nice workout, but afterall, the game is not so easy at all, not just abt u shoot me, i shoot u. Its to touch with strategy too. But afterall, we were just enjoy the game, and the strategy we talk about before the game, in war field..is all about shooting only, like never hold a gun before.hahaah..
And the results of the game, i got bruises over my body, with the 2 serious one on the thigh which bleeds a little...ALL because of my heroic act to run across the field towards the enemy side. I think I kill one, but at least 3 ppl aims at me..hahaha...nvm..its just all the fun afterall...
The teambuilding ends with lunch together at KF Tesco...So, paintball is real fun instead.
Future any paintball game again, i will join for sure..But too bad, no one is bringing a cam so no pic to be display in this post!!

Doctor vs Engineer (Part1)

Well this flash past my mind as I was holding 2 Prescott, a Conroe and 2 Kingston back to my cube, after I successfully booted up a legacy CRB-810 (that do not have SATA, runs on SDRAM PC100...). I always had the ambition to become a doctor, but as my brain was not made by Westen Digital, or Maxtor, or Hitachi (perhaps made in China)...thus I end up going to become an engineer that now undergoes the final few weeks industrial training in a reputable MNC.

So what is so different between an engineer and a doctor?Well it might be not in logic sense, but just my quick thought about the differences between a doctor and an engineer...

Well we all know computer is extremely important nowadays and we can model computers to be more intelligent than human. Why not?Just ask sumone this question..1235ABCF x 234EEE>?How many human can answer and those who can answer, how long does it take? And type this into a computer..Answer:-.....

So for a doctor, subject is a patient (human practically), and for an engineer, subject is computer...Lets see this!

1. DOCTOR do not invent HUMAN.....ENGINEER invent COMPUTERS...which means more works to be done by the ENGINEERS...and more knowledges too..

2. DOCTOR treats HUMAN...ENGINEERS do treat problematic computers too...so square off..

3. DOCTOR do not upgrade human intelligence...ENGINEERS upgrade computer intelligence..in fact....compueter intelligence rise in almost very linear sequence..which means...ENGINEER always have to stresss out their brains on how to make computer more intelligent...

4. Processor is similar to human brains...so can doctor speed up your brain?NO...but ENGINEER speed up processor..on occasionally basis..

5. Virus such as (influenza, AIDS, H5N1, etc) infects human, and doctor responsible to cure patients, BUT ENGINEERS too need to cure virus infected computers, but think twice, how frequent do new human virus is found? New computer viruses is found everyday, which means, ENGINEERS always have to work 10X harder than DOCTOR!!

6. It might take roughly maximun 10 doctor to do an organ transplant operation, but it takes minimum 50 (which can be more) to design a new typical component for a same computer series..

7. AND while an organ transplant operation might need maybe 5-10 hours, a design by ENGINEERS might need 5-10 weeks..or sometimes in month, or in year, which means, ENGINEERS have to work even harder!!

8. DOCTOR never can replace broken hand, damaged brain..BUT ENGINEER can replace faulty processor, faulty harddisk.

9. DOCTOR does not need to support dead patients, they will say "Thats the best I had done", but ENGINEER do still need to provide support EOL (end of life) computer, as engineer will say "Well, this computer might already EOL, but I can bring it back to life".

10. HUMAN exists in one and only type, thus DOCTOR study and treat on one and only human type, BUT, computer comes in many type, thus ENGINEER have to study and treat many and many computer types!!

to be continue......

Weekend is short,
Times is fast,
Sweet-times we had,
Forever in the heart.
